Nutley Science programming focuses on providing cutting edge science education for our students that is deeply rooted in 21st Century Skills of communication, collaboration, creativity and critical thinking as well as firmly aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards.  We aim to provide our students opportunities that open their minds to think about how and why phenomena occur in the world around them.  Our programming encourages hands-on activities so that our students are learning by doing and pushing themselves to analyze and apply the principles they are learning to real-life systems.

This year, we are working to ensure that we are tightly aligned to Next Generation Science Standards by using the NJ EQUiP Rubric to assess our lesson plans and unit structure.  We are not settling to meet the requirements but rather, through this process, exceed them.  This department goal will allow us to provide opportunities that are rigorous, relevant and have purposes of application at the college level and beyond.
