Food Web
Food webs show how many animals are interconnected by different paths.
The Food web starts with the sun. The sun helps the plants to produce their own food. That is the first link in the Food web.
Animals that feed on other organisms are called PREDATORS.
What the predators feed on are called PREY.
All animals must eat to survive. Predators are always looking out for a meal. Prey must always be alert to aviod being eaten.
Food webs have 4 major parts; the sun, producers, consumers, and decomposers.
Plants are the biggest producers. They make their own food using the sun.
Consumers can't make their own food so they eat producers.
The decomposers are fungi and bacteria. They break down things and recycle them back into the environment.
