The Liberty Bell was originally made at the Whitechaple foundry in London in the year 1752. When the bell was first rung, the person who rang the bell was horrified to hear a cracking noise. The noise was the bell cracking because it was too brittle. The bell was given to two Philadelphia foundry workers to be remade. The foundry workers name's were John Pass and John Stow. On June 11, 1753 the new bell was finished and rung again and this time it did not crack. The Liberty bell is owned by the city of Philidelphia, Pennsylvania |
