Our Flag Changes

June 14, 1777 - The Flag Resolution stated the flag would have 13 alternating red and white stripes, and have 13 stars on a blue background

Jan 13,1794 - The flag was changed to 15 stripes and 15 stars.

June 24,1912 - The stars were arranged 6 horizontal rows 8 each.

Jan 3,1959 - The stars were changed to 7 rows with 7 stars each staggered horizontally .

August 21,1959 - the stars were changed to 9 rows with stars staggered horizontally and 11 rows of stars staggered vertically. Our flag now stands with 50 stars and 13 stripes.

Facts: New Jersey was one of the 13 original stars. To remember the first 13 colonies our flag has 13 stripes of starting with red and alternating with white.
