Skype in the Classroom
Spring Garden 3rd graders and Lincoln School 5th graders Skyped with authors, Henry Winkler and Lin Oliver, the co-authors of the Hank series,
As part of the Monster Exchange project the 1st and 4th grade classes Skyped with the students at Oakmont School in San Diego, California. The students shared information about their schools and are planning on collaborating on some math and writing projects in the new year.
Some monster creations -
An Awesome Skype session with the fourth graders at Spring Garden and the fourth graders in Jefferson Township. The students shared information about the Revolutionary battles in New Jersey and the conditions that the soldiers had to deal with in Morristown.
Lincoln School 4th graders and White Rock Elementary School 4th graders are reading, "The Trumpet of the Swan" and connecting to discuss and quiz with each other through Skype.
Mrs. McCormick's 1st graders had a Mystery Skype guest "stop in" for a visit. The students asked questions and guessed where their guest lived. They were surprised to learn they were Skyping with the grandmother of one of their classmates.
Ms. Cerankowski's 3rd graders and Mrs. DeBoard's 3rd graders in Centralia, Illinois, exchanged information about their schools. The students asked questions and created a Venn Diagram as they compared and contrasted their schools.
