Dear Parents/Guardians,

It is hard to believe that the last days of summer are upon us and the start of school is quickly approaching. Staff will return to the district on Tuesday, September 5th and students will return on Wednesday, September 6th for a single session day. Your building principals will communicate with more information.

It has been a busy summer, with many facilities improvements. I think staff, students and parents will be excited to enter our buildings next week. I want to acknowledge our tremendous team who has worked hard all summer to prepare for our students. Our principals, coordinators, Central Office staff, secretaries, custodial, maintenance and grounds staff, and our teachers and support staff members are a wonderful group and all are ready to welcome back our students.

District and Board Goals

This year, the District, Board of Education and all seven buildings adopted the same year long goals. This allows for consistent and strategic movement, with the entire district working towards common goals. The five goals for 2023-24 can be found here.

Open Houses

The district has scheduled Open House dates. Buildings will be in touch with times and specifics as the dates approach.

9/13 Washington Back to School Night

9/14 Yantacaw Back to School Night

Safety and Security

The state mandated that crisis and threat assessment teams be in place by this past June. The District has been proactive in safety and security and has had this team in place for more than a year. In addition, the district continues to put the safety and security of our staff and students as our top priority. We employ 12 Safe School Resource Officers throughout the district.

Portal Opening

The portal for all schools will open on Tuesday, August 29th. Students/parents can check the portal then for schedules.

District Calendar

The District will be closed for Yom Kippur on Monday, September 25th. A link to the school calendar can be found here.

We look forward to the 2023-24 school year. Welcome back!
