The Nutley Board of Education is seeking qualified candidates for membership to the Board.  The Board, within the powers delegated to it by law, is the policy-making legislative branch of the Nutley School District.


This term will run until December 31, 2024.  The position will be placed on the ballot at the annual election for November 5, 2024.

Qualifications:

•    A citizen of the United States of America
•    At least 18 years of age
•    Able to read and write
•    A resident of the Nutley municipality for at least (1) year preceding the date of appointment
•    Not directly/indirectly interested in a contract with, or a claim against, the Board
•    Registered to vote in the District
•    Not disqualified as a voter pursuant to NJSA 19:4-1
•    Not hold office as Mayor or be a member of the Township of Nutley Board of Commissioners;
•    Not simultaneously hold two elective offices; and
•    Not be disqualified from membership for the conviction of certain crimes. (Within 30 days of election or appointment to the board, a member must undergo a criminal history background investigation through the state Department of Education)

Letters of application will be accepted through January 16, 2024 until 4:00 p.m.
The Board of Education will review all qualifying applicants.

Interviews will be conducted on a date determined by the Board of Education.
 

About

The Nutley School District serves approximately 4,100 students in Kindergarten through grade 12. The five elementary schools serve students K-6 and include Lincoln School, Radcliffe School, Spring Garden School, Washington School and Yantacaw School. John H. Walker Middle School serves students in grades 7-8 while Nutley High School addresses the needs of students in grades 9-12.
