Nutley, NJ (February 6, 2018) – Mr. Joseph Dwyer was approved as the Coordinator of Integrated Instructional Technology, PK-12, for the Nutley Public Schools at the Board of Education meeting on January 29, 2018. He began his role on February 1, 2018.
In his new role, Dwyer will be responsible for ensuring that technology is used to support teaching and learning in grades PK-12, in all aspects of instructional programming. He will work to inspire and facilitate, among all stakeholders, a shared vision of purposeful change which maximizes the use of digital-age resources to meet and exceed technology-enhanced learning goals, and supports effective instructional practice and performance through the use of technology in the classroom.
Dwyer, a product of the Nutley Public Schools, has been a social studies teacher at Nutley High School since 2007. He taught Advanced Placement and Honors United States History. He has also been published in several academic journals including, New York History and the New England Journal of History. Dwyer was a member of the district’s Evaluation Advisory Committee and a member of the Board of Directors of the New Jersey Council for Social Studies. Additionally, he has been a teacher-leader in the use and integration of technology.

Dwyer replaces Mr. Andrew Levine, who had been with the district in the Technology role since 2013.
