On Friday, November 17, Mrs. Melchionne set up an afternoon to have members from the Kingsland Manor and NYU Fashion Intern come in and speak with our NHS Fashion History & Design classes, AP Studio Art and Humanities students.

Fashion History & Design, AP Studio, and Humanities students enjoyed a presentation about historic gowns from the Kingsland Manor at Nutley High School today. Presenters included: Leon Kish, President of the Historic Restoration Trust of Nutley; Jenise Sileo, Fashion Historian and Librarian; and Rachel Bellis, Fashion Studies Intern from NYU. They discussed the garments in the collection of Kingsland Manor, how they restore and display them, and how they use the clothing to tell us about the lives of the people that once wore them.
