Thank you for your engagement and support as we have  reopened the Nutley Public School buildings to resume in-person instruction. We remain committed  to increasing the hours and days of instruction and are closely following developments from the NJ Department of Education, State of New Jersey, and the local, county, and state Departments of Health. At this time we are continuing our COVID-19 testing protocols and, with our Hackensack Meridian Health partners, have arranged the COVID vaccine for any faculty and staff member that wanted to receive it.  As discussed at the February 22, 2021 Board of Education meeting, we will continue to add additional in-person instruction as the mandates and health and safety of the learning community allows.

Beginning the week of Monday, March 22, 2021 we will no longer have virtual instruction only on Wednesdays at the elementary level. Cohorts will rotate for in-person instruction beginning with Cohort A on Wednesday, March 24. The specific schedule will be provided to insure equity of days among the cohorts given the upcoming district calendar.

Also beginning Monday, March 22 our ABA, LLD, PreK, and English Language Learning students will be returned to the buildings five days per week. Specific information regarding the schedule and any transportation details will be shared by building administration.

If you've selected to continue 100% virtual instruction for your child, please continue with the protocols as you have done since March 2020.

Please remember that masks, social distancing, daily completion of the electronic screening tool, thorough hand washing and staying home when you are sick continue to be imperative to fighting COVID19, and other illnesses.

Right at School is offering program options here in the district to help with child care. You may choose from full or half days, one to five per week. The days begin at 8AM and run until 5PM. As enrollment increases, we will expand to additional school sites. The program is currently at Yantacaw and Washington. Please use the following link for additional information.

You can also contact jessica.schneider@rightatschool.com to register or for information regarding sibling discounts and needs based scholarships.

Discussions regarding additional return options are on-going among our School Improvement Panels, Pandemic Response teams, and the Board of Education. We will continue to engage the community as we progress through each phase.
