The following is an update on the Superintendent Search:

  • There were a total of twenty seven applications.
  • The twenty-seven candidates included twelve central office administrators, five principals, and ten other candidates with limited administrative and educational experiences.
  • There were ten external and internal candidates who met the Board of Education and stakeholders’ criteria and were invited to an interview with our consultant Dr. Bolandi. Nine accepted and were interviewed by Dr. Bolandi and his findings were presented to the Board of Education on April 7th.
  • The Board of Education is reviewing the candidate pool along with the nine candidates interviewed by Dr. Bolandi. The Nutley Board of Education has directed Dr. Bolandi to schedule the first round of interviews during the week of May 2nd. The Board will then decide the two finalists, for interviews during the week of May 16th. The Nutley Board of Education anticipates an approval of the board at our May 23rd meeting or during a special meeting in early June.
