6th Grade Required Vaccines

Health Laws of the State of New Jersey require that all public school students be immunized against certain diseases.

If your child is missing the required 6th Grade vaccines, Meningococcal and Tdap, here are some suggestions.  Every child born on or after January 1, 1997 and entering 6th Grade shall have received one dose of Tdap given no earlier than the 10th birthday, one dose of the meningococcal vaccine. To prevent your child from being excluded from school you can obtain the vaccines at your pediatrician,or the Nutley Board of Health. Meningococcal, and the Tdap vaccines cost can be submitted to your insurance for reimbursement if applicable or receive the vaccine at the local CVS and Rite Aide ( I've contacted them and was informed vaccines are available) students 12 years or older can recieve the vaccine from them, you can ask if they can submit cost to your insurance directly. If no proof of immunization is received your child will be excluded form school.

Thank you for your cooperation, together we can keep your child safe and healthy.

Kindest Regards,

Nurse Vicky
